films

We love films because they make us feel something.

They speak to our desires, which are never small.

They allow us to escape and to dream and to gaze into eyes that are impossibly beautiful and huge.

They fill us with longing.

But also.

They tell us to remember; they remind us of life.

Remember, they say, how much it hurts to have your heart broken.

Remember about death and suffering and the complexities of living.

Remember what it is like to love someone.

Remember how it is to be loved.

Remember what you feel in this moment.

Remember this.

Remember this.  “…”

  1. Inspiring Anna… I ❤️
On the side, I was very fond of films when I was a teenager. Alas! I became very ill when I watched the horror film ‘Black Sabbath ‘on the big screen. Scary. Still feel the aftermath. Anyways,do not mean to put you off. Lately watched and enjoyed ‘The Danish Girl and ‘Carol ‘ 🌹❤️🌹

  2. This is an interesting work, I think this is a first poem I read about films, and it is well done. For me personally, films very often remind me of what I am missing in life, and that would be passion, passion for work, love, life, for waking up or going to sleep. And then there are films, that somehow reinforce, or makes you think about the very dark sides of being a human. If I may, I’d like to recommend a thought provoking film “Dogville”. If you ever see it, would love to hear your thoughts. Also, thank you for the support you have shown me, much appreciated!

  3. Your poem of films is very nice
    Succinct, remembered, much precise
    A sentiment which much suffice
    Until the next comes true.

    The meta world pontificates
    Glad you do not remonstrate
    The future films which demonstrate
    A beauty shining through.

I write poetry as well as make films 🙂 I liked your post
